Man, who kicked six-year-old leaning against his car in Kerala, arrested

A six-year-old boy was kicked and assaulted by a man in Thalassery, in Kannur district, Kerala, because the boy was leaning against his car on Wednesday.

The boy, belonged to a migrant family from Rajasthan in search of work and the incident occurred near the Thalassery bus stand. When Shihshad, the owner of the car came to where he had parked his vehicle, found the boy leaning against his car and angered by it, starting kicking the child. Luckily, for the boy, people around, who saw the incident came to his rescue. The incident was recorded on CCTV cameras in the area.

On Friday morning, based on the CCTV footage, police registered a case and arrested him under Sections 308 (attempt to culpable homicide) and 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.

Women and Child Development Minister Veena George, said, “Strict action will be taken in the matter. It is highly condemnable and cruel. The government will stand with the victim's family.”
