Clear NET, is MA Sociology, willing to work as labourer or driver—unemployment in India
Vikash Sanchi is looking out for a job and is willing to work as a driver or a labourer.
He has tweeted, "Please help me to get any work. It's so hard to survive due to lockdown. Since lockdown, I have not been able to even get any labour work in the unorganised sector. Merely sustenance seems too hard in this time. I'm ready to work as daily wage labour also."
At first glance, this may seem usual, but there is something unusual about the public request for a job.
Sanchi, holds a Master's degree in Sociology, is doing his Master's in English and if this is not enough, he has cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) of the University Grants Commission (UGC), making him eligible to take up a teaching job in any UGC recognised college in the country.
Sanchi has done his graduation in Mass Communication and has actively participated in several academic activities.
At the Ambedkar University, he won a gold medal in 1500 metres run in the annual sports event.
While there are many retweeting Sanchi’s tweet, trying to help him out, there are others, who have narrated their problems too, which are not too different from his.
Another person, who goes by the name Bhakt Modi on Twitter has tweeted, that he has been selected by Northern Railway, for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot, having completed all the selection steps in 2019 and is yet to get the job.
There are many in the country who have lost their sources of income in the COVID pandemic and some have suffered due to the demonetisation, though the Union Government has been claiming that there is nothing wrong with the economy.
