Containers to contain people at Red Fort on Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been critical about the incidence at the Red Fort on January 26, 2021, when some farmers climbed on the ramparts of Fort, will be silent on the insult to the historical monument, when he addresses the nation tomorrow.

The Delhi Police has been freely using containers to stop protestors. Containers have been used on the outskirts of Delhi to prevent the protesting farmers from entering the capital. The Delhi Police have now stacked containers at the Red Fort, from where the Prime Minister will address the nation tomorrow on the occasion of Independence Day. Containers are used to carry cargo on ships, trains and trailers on the road, but now they are being used for barricading areas.

The way the containers have been stacked up, apparently to prevent “unwanted” people from coming close to the Fort, but they will now prevent members of the public from seeing the Red Fort. A large number of people gather every year to hear the Prime Minister address from the ramparts of the Fort and this year, it may not be possible due to the containers.

Some citizens have taken to Twitter to flay the government on the stacking of the containers to barricade Red Fort. Youth Congress leader B V Srinivas has tweeted: Coward MODI Wall between 𝗟𝗢𝗚 & 𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔. How do you see this Saddest picture of Independent India at Red Fort?
