COVID 19 safety protocol violation case in Jharkhand against Union Minister

Union Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi Yadav has been booked by Dhanbad police in Jharkhand, for COVID 19 safety protocol.

Dhanbad’s Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Sanjay Kumar ordered the Dhanbad police yesterday to lodge the case against Annapurna Devi, on the basis of a case filed by Mohammad Kalam Azad. Azad had approached the court alleging that the minister had violated the COVID 19 pandemic lockdown protocols, during her Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Jharkhand on August 9.

Azad mentioned in his plaint that Annapurna Devi and her supporters had endangered the lives of the people, who had gathered for the Yatra, by violation the COVID 19 safety protocols. He also blamed the local administration for its failure to take action to prevent the rally.

After lodging the case on the directions of the CJM, Dhanbad police will probe who were the others who attended the Jan Ashirwad Yatra.

Annapurna Devi was elected to the Lok Sabha from Kodarma parliamentary constituency on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket.
