Muzzled Voices joins farmers' campaign to demand declaration of wet drought in Maharashtra

The receding monsoon, which led to heavy rain and flooding in several parts of Maharashtra, has caused great damage to the crops, leading to tremendous financial losses to the farmers.

The farmers are not happy with the “silence” of the government and its failure to give appropriate compensation to the farmers. In order to draw the attention of the government to their problems, the farmers in the state have decided to launch an online campaign to demand that the government declares a wet drought in the state.

It has been decided that all posts on social media will have the hashtag #wetdrought and will tag the following: @mieknathshinde, @cmomaharashtra, @Dev_Fadnavis, @AbdulSattar_99.

The online campaign will be run from 11 am to 11 pm today (October 27, 2022). The farmers have appealed to all those using social media to join the campaign and help trend #wetdrought.

Muzzled Voices supports and joins in the campaign to appeal to the government to declare a wet drought in the state and to give adequate compensation to the farmers.
