Tata Group praised for introducing eight-hour workday
Ranveer Sinha, president Alumni Association and Board of Governors of XLRI Jamshedpur has praised the Tata Group for introducing an eight-hour workday, provident fund, maternity benefits, diversity and inclusion.
In his inaugural address at a two-day conclave of the Board members in Jamshedpur on Tuesday, Sinha referred to the introduction of the concept of Talent Value Management. According to Sinha, diversity is not just inclusion of women in the workforce, but also of LGBTQ+ community. He stressed that since the last few years HR innovation has been for white collar workers, but it is time to focus on blue collar jobs once again as manufacturing is growing in India.
The chief speaker at the conclave, Dr Varadharaju Janardhanan, Vice-President Human Resources (HR) at Flipkart spoke on Data Transformation and threw light on the power of data and personalisation. He presented case studies, which touched various aspects of innovation in HR functions. Dr Varadharaju appealed to the participants that they should not become a victim of the situation, instead they should have the right attitude in the face of the challenge.
