Prior inputs on attack on minorities ignored, 700 civilians arrested in J&K: Mehbooba Mufti

Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) administration ignored the prior information it had on attacks on minorities, charged Mehbooba Mufti, President of Jammu Kashmir People’s Democratic Front (JKPDP). The Hindus and Sikhs are a minority in J&K.

Mufti tweeted that the administration ignored prior inputs on the attacks and was busy providing security to Union Ministers who “were brought to Kashmir to amplify BJPs fake narrative and propaganda of so-called normalcy in J&K”.

She blamed the administration for not taking responsibility for the killing of the minorities and instead arresting 700 civilians. According to the former Chief Minister of J&K, the arrest of 700 civilians shows the administration’s intention to shift blame and absolve itself of its responsibility. “Collective punishment and humiliation of an entire population has become the one-size-fits-all approach to resolve problems caused due to Government of India’s punitive policies,” she stated.
