UP police put pressure on journalist to delete video of ambulance stuck in traffic due to Modi’s rally

Anmol Pritam a journalist working for an independent video channel National Dastak, has tweeted that Gorakhpur police have putting pressure on him and harassing his family demanding that he delete a video he tweeted yesterday about an ambulance being held up due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally.

Pritam has tweeted a video of the ambulance, with a young girl, who was injured in an accident, needing medical attention. The girl’s mother is shown pleading that the traffic be cleared to make way for the ambulance to the hospital to save her daughter’s life.

Pritam said in the video that there were no traffic police to clear the traffic. He is heard appealing to the people to clear the traffic, but in vain.

The Gorakhpur police has tweeted a reply to his tweet yesterday seeking the exact location of the ambulance.

Pritam has tweeted in the wee hours today that there is no pressure on him to delete the video. He said that the police have launched a search for him and are checking hotels in Gorakhpur to see if he has check-in. He claimed that the police have also reached his home in his village and have asked the family members to tell him to delete the video.

Pritam has claimed that his family is being “tortured” by the police.
