Odisha man gets his wife married to man in Delhi

The Kalahandi police in Odisha, arrested a man on Saturday, for getting his wife married to another man.

According to the police, Khira Beruk of Maskaguda village in Kalahandi, got married to a 22-year-old about a year ago.

On October 30, Beruk took his wife to Delhi on the pretext of finding some work, but on reaching Delhi, he got his wife married to man from Haryana on November 2, allegedly after accepting sizeable amount of money. After “selling off his wife” Kheru returned to his village in Odisha.

Realising what had happened, his wife called up her father on November 5 and told him what had happened.  On hearing the daughter’s story, the father lodged a complaint with the Narla police in the village.

The police swung into action and arrested Beruk. A Kalahandi police team has been sent to Delhi, to rescue her and get her back.
