Swift action of Mumbai Police on a tweet by journalist Sakshi Joshi complaining of online abuse

Once again, the Mumbai Police has acted swiftly to take action against online abuse. Independent journalist Sakshi Joshi was being abused by Manohar Shankar Jha via Facebook Messenger, using filthiest of language.

Joshi tweeted her agony and attached screenshots of the abuses. She tagged Mumbai Police, Maharashtra Minister and Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray and Shiv Sena Member of  Parliament Priyanka Chaturvedi.

Within a short time the Mumbai Police contacted Joshi seeking more details and registered an online compliant.

Joshi tweeted again stating, “Within no time @MumbaiPolice responded, called and helped me file an online complaint. @AUThackeray ji contacted & ensured action @priyankac19  is following it herself When governments function swiftly like this, such criminals will definitely live in fear. Thank you so much.”

Mumbai Police had also acted swiftly to arrest those behind the Bulli Bai app, which was created to target Muslim women, who are vocal on the social media.
