Modi Govt’s Believe It or Not: No COVID related deaths to due to lack of oxygen

The Modi Government at the Centre has scored over Ripley’s Believe It or Not, by stating in the Rajya Sabha today that there were no COVID 19 related deaths in the country due to the lack of oxygen.

Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharati Pravin Pawar told the House in reply to a question that no deaths due to lack of oxygen were reported by any Indian state or union territory during the second wave of COVID 19 pandemic in the country. The question related to deaths of patients on roads and in hospitals due to lack of oxygen.

Pawar went on to state that 10,250 MT of oxygen had been allocated to various states and union territories till May 28, 2021, of which the maximum quantity of 1,200 MT each was given to Maharashtra and Karnataka, while Gujarat was allocated 800 MT and Tamil Nadu received 650 MT.
