Assam government stops ‘work from home’ for pregnant women
Assam Government has withdrawn the concession given to pregnant employees and women with children below three years of age, to work from home.
On April 20, 2021, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority had issued an order allowing pregnant employees and women with children below three years of age to work from home, in the light of the COVID 19 pandemic.
A fresh order issued now says that the COVID 19 pandemic situation in the state has been reviewed and it is observed that the situation has improved. The order (ASDMA 202021928) states that 95 per cent of the total eligible population in the state has been vaccinated with one dose and 31 per cent with two doses.
In the light of this, the chairman of the Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority has issued directions that the relaxation issued for pregnant women employees and women employees with children of three years or below working under any Government/Public Sector Units (PSUs)/Financial Institutions/Private Organisations stand withdrawn.
