Parents paint benches before school reopening in Masakalipalayam

Parents of students studying in a school run in Masakalipalayam, in Coimbatore city in Tamil Nadu have shown a unique gesture to help the school.

With the announcement that primary school will restart after a two year closure due to the lockdown as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic, some parents of children studying in the school run by the civic body have come forward to clean the classes.

The school authorities had held a meeting with parents to brief them about the reopening of the school for primary students. During the meeting the parents were told that some of the benches were in a bad shape due to lack of usage and cleaning up for two years. On learning this, some parents volunteered to paint the benches and desks, while some others announced that they would contribute money.

The parents said that they are happy with the teaching and the extra-curricular activities, hence decided to help the school. The parents have painted 50  benches and desks, giving the classes a new look.
