TN Government seeks sacking of Governor Ravi for ‘stoking communal hatred’

The Tamil Nadu (TN) Government has sought the sacking of state Governor Ravindra Narayana Ravi, accusing him of stoking communal hatred and engaging in divisive rhetoric.

The TN Government led by M K Stalin of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)- has written a letter to President Droupadi Murmu urging her to sack Governor Ravindra Narayana Ravi.

TN Governor RN Ravi has developed an unfortunate propensity to publicly profess his lack of faith in the secular ideals of this country and frequently engages in divisive rhetoric, the letter to President Murmu stated.

In its letter to the President, the government charged that the Governor’s speeches are made with a calculated intent to incite hatred and create communal unrest among the people.

“A Governor who does not have faith in any one of these ideals is not fit to hold constitutional office,” the letter added.

The Stalin government has also accused the Governor R N Ravi of unduly delaying assent to the Bills passed by the State Legislature.
