Honour killing: sister and her beloved hacked to death in UP
A woman and her beloved were killed by the woman’s brother in Rajepur Saraimeda village, in Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The killing is suspected to be a case of honour killing.
According to the police, Neetu, the brother of the woman, came to the local police station in the wee hours of Sunday and told the police personnel on duty that he had killed his sister, Shivani aged 23, and her beloved, Ramkaran aged 25, as his family and he did not approve of their relationship. He also stated that he had dumped the bodies in a drain.
On failing to separate them after warning them not to continue the relationship, he hacked the couple to death with a sharp weapon. The police have recovered the bodies from the drain.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in the matter on a complaint lodged by Ramkaran`s father Mahaveer Jatav, the police added. Further investigations are being carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena.
