Teleprompter failure, exposes national secret

By abhay mokashi

The teleprompter malfunction during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's online address at the World Economic Forum Davos agenda, is a serious matter and needs action against those guilty.

The failure of the teleprompter during his speech has led to the disclosure of a major national secret.

The teleprompter malfunction exposed the limited intellectual capacity of the Prime Minister to speak at such fora. An intelligent person would have retrieved the situation by speaking impromptu. When the teleprompters failed, he was speaking about how Indians fought the COVID 19 pandemic; a person who claims to have handled the pandemic well, should not falter while speaking about. But you need a good memory to tell lies.

Modi's blind followers have been under the impression that he is not only brilliant, but his intelligence dwarfs the intellectual capacity of all his predecessors.

Modi's awareness of his limitations, has led to his inferiority complex, which is regularly exhibited by his attempts to run down a galaxy of national personalities like Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr Manmohan Singh and several other political personalities.

Modi seems to have misunderstood the statement that to make a line smaller without cutting it, a larger line has to be drawn next to it. Instead of raising himself intellectually, he flays these personalities or mocks at them on a regular basis, thinking that would make him greater than the luminaries. For his blind followers that made him larger than Nehru, Dr Singh and many others. But for persons even with average intelligence, Modi bemeans the high office that he occupies, though he does so in many other ways too. His mimicry of leaders lacks creativity and is of low quality.

There is nothing wrong in reading out a speech, numerous leaders the world over do so. But, Modi likes to give an impression that he is an intellectual and that he speaks impromptu, that too on every subject one can think of. In order to give that impression, he uses teleprompters, which are hidden from the cameras.

Even for small speeches and from his 'sermons' from temples, he requires teleprompters.

Truth cannot be hidden for long and that is what happened in Modi's case, with the failure of the teleprompters.

The Prime Minister's intellectual limitations is a national secret and with the disclosure of that information on an international forum, in front of world leaders, is a major compromise on state secret and those responsible for it must be penalised for revealing it.

There has to be probe about the compromise on the state secret. Prima facie, not just the operators of the teleprompters, but even Modi is guilty of exposing the limitations of the Prime Minister of India.

Not just the world, but our enemy has come to know this secret. Of course the spies of Pakistan and China must have already passed on this secret information to their masters back home.

Pakistan must have realised it at least when Modi said after the surgical strike, that he had told the officers to strike when the sky is cloudy, so that the aircraft are not detected on the radar!

Modi's 'economic embargo' against China was limited to banning of Chinese apps, while imports from China increased!

Just as the Supreme Court has started a probe in the glitch in the Prime Minister's security in Punjab, even the teleprompter failure should be probed by the apex court, given the national security angle.
