Maharashtra School Education Minister launches Thank You Teacher on Twitter

Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has launched a Twitter handle Thank You Teacher (@thxteacher) to help students thank their teachers, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day tomorrow.

Gaikwad gave an introduction of the handle through a video she tweeted on it, in which she appreciated the role played by teachers, especially during the COVID 19 pandemic. She placed on record, how teachers, who could not reach out to students in rural and remote areas, went to those areas and hamlets, sometimes even crossing rivers, in order to ensure that their students do not miss out on learning.

She said that this is an opportunity to thank teachers, who play a major role in giving the right direction to students and to the society.

Gaikwad did MSc in Mathematics from the prestigious Institute of Science, Mumbai as well as Bachelor of Education and was herself a teacher.

Her effort has received response from students in urban as well as rural areas.
