Dr Usha Tandon new Dean and Law Faculty Head, Delhi University

Eminent professor of Environmental Law, Gender Justice and Family Law, Dr Usha Tandon has been appointed Dean and Head of Law Faculty, University of Delhi.

Tandon is the 32nd person to hold the coveted post in the prestigious university. She has a teaching experience of over 30 years and is internationally renowned scholar, especially for her work on human development focusing on environmental protection and women empowerment.

There is no match to her book on Population Law in India, which coves various population issues through the perspective of law and has been referred to extensively in India and abroad.

Tandon has to her credit several other books on environmental protection and women’s rights, prominent among them being Energy Law (Oxford University Press); Biodiversity Law (Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group); Climate Change (Eastern Book Company); Gender Justice (Regal Publications); and Human Trafficking Law (Central Law Agency).

She has also published over 50 research papers in national and international journals and has presented her research in various academic platforms, across the world.

The Supreme Court of India has applauded her published work in 2003.
