YouTube channel 4pm News Network's Voice Muzzled, Hacked for Exposing UP government
4 pm news network, a bold channel on the YouTube, has been hacked, according to its editor Sanjay Sharma. The channel is not available on YouTube now.
Sanjay Sharma and his channel are known to expose the wrong doings of not just the current Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh, but he was vocal against the Samajwadi Party government too. Yet, within months of the Adityanath government coming to power in the state, a senior government official told Sharma that the Chief Minister is not happy with the content of his channel and that he should not speak against the government and the Chief Minister. Sharma and his channel are known to expose the wrong doings of the government. But he said that he was not threatened when he exposed the Samajwadi Party government in the state.
Sharma has tweeted today, “This was the last act of the government! In five years, no stone has been left unturned in my oppression! First EOW, STF then attack on office, recognition ended, house vacated by police, advertisement closed, death threats and now my YouTube is closed!”
Sharma is known to be an upright and ethical journalist, not willing to compromise on his professionalism, much to the discomfort of many in power in Uttar Pradesh.
The editor of the channel has written to YouTube to find out what has happened to his channel, but according to him there is no reply as yet. Sharma feels that the channel has been hacked at the behest of either those in power or the party in power.
Sharma has also written to the Election Commission to probe the incident, in the light of the elections in the state.
