Navi Mumbai: Mob booked for assaulting auto driver, two women
Suspecting an auto driver and two females to be kidnappers of children, were beaten-up by a mob at Taloja in Navi Mumbai on Friday.
According to the Taloja police, the auto driver Muhammad Gulmohammed Shakeel Ansari (24), a resident of Shilphata, near Mumbra, was on his way home when he saw two women, known to him, waiting at Taloja village, whom he knew and offered a lift. While on their way home, the mob attacked them, accusing them to be child-lifers. The two women with wearing hijab.
The police said that initially, the three were assaulted by seven persons and later a more people joined in to assault the three occupants of the autorickshaw. The police reached there on receiving the information and have registered a case unknown persons. The police are trying to identify the assaulters.
