BJP leaders swear by man, who swore at Mahatma Gandhi

Kalicharan, the man who used foul language while speaking about Mahatma Gandhi, at a religious congregation in Raipur in Chhattisgarh earlier this week, has been arrested by the Chhatttisgarh police.

Kalicharan had also praised Mahatma Gandhi’s killer Nathuram Godse for his act. 

The Chhattisgarh police picked up Kalicharan from Khajurao in Madhya Pradesh, inviting the wrath of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra flayed the Congress-led Chhattisgarh government for ‘breaching inter-state protocol’, while arresting Kalicharan. He has directed the State Director General of Police to speak to his Chhattisgarh counterpart about the issue.

Kalicharan is said to have been on the run after a case was filed against him by Raipur Congress leader Pramod Dube. Kalicharan was to stay in a guest house in Khajurao, but changed his plan and stayed at a rented house, from where he was picked up by the police.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader, Chhattisgarh legislator and former Minister of the state has demanded the Brijmohan Agrawal has demanded the release of Kalicharan, resulting in Congress leaders including state Chief Minister Bhupesh Bhagel asking the BJP and its leaders to clarify whether they stand for Gandhi or Godse.
