UP IPS goes incognito to check police response time; satisfied
IPS officer Charu Nigam, Superintendent of Police Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh, reported a fake crime incognito, to check the response time of police in her jurisdiction, only to be satisfied with their performance.
Nigam dialled the police emergency number 112, to report that she was looted by armed assailants, who had come on a motorbike. The police soon arrived on the scene to investigate the crime. They did not recognise her, as she was in civilian clothes, wore a scarf to cover her head and a mask to cover her face. She also wore sun glasses, making it difficult for her subordinates to recognise her.
Later, the Auraiya police tweeted video of the incident, stating that Nigam was satisfied with the response time of the police in her jurisdiction.
