Income generation and women’s rights training for Naga women
A programme on income generation and awareness of women’s rights was organised in Tsithrongse village of Dimapur district of Nagaland by Anma Integrated Development Association (AIDA) under State Bank of India Foundation Gram Seva Programme on August 20.
According to an AIDA press release, the purpose of the training was to provide skill and training to rural communities to ensure better livelihood opportunities and to encourage self-employment by promoting small, cottage and local industries, as well as to achieve gender equality, empower rural women through awareness on advocacy.

The staff of AIDA and interns from St. Joseph University and North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Dimapur, demonstrated the making of detergent, dish wash, car wash and hand wash.
The resource person and panel lawyer of Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA), Zuchumpeni Ngullie, spoke on protection of women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 and different types of violence under the Act, which included physical violence, verbal or emotional violence, sexual violence and economic violence. She also emphasised on how women are rescued by one stop centre (OSC) and provides shelter.
Ngullie explained the procedures for filing cases of domestic violence.
