We are being harassed by police, says girl who married a lower caste boy

An upper caste resident of Bakewar, Etawah in Uttar Pradesh has tweeted that she is being harassed by the police has she has married a boy of a lower caste, who is a resident of Auraiya District.

She has stated in her tweet that she is a brahmin and her husband belongs to the chamar caste. “Both of us are adults and have married on our own free will, but we are being harassed repeatedly by the police administration. We have given information about our marriage to the police administration, but still we are being harassed,” the girl has stated.

She has added that the police should be held responsible if anything happens to her or her in-laws. She has tagged Etawah Police, Additional Director General of Police, Lucknow Zone, District Magistrate Lucknow and Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh.
