Brother protests demanding clean-up, as sister is stung by poisonous insect
Pained that his sister was bitten by a poisonous insect, found in the weeds around the roads in his area, a ten-year-old boy in Telangana, protested on the road, seeking action by local officials to clear the weeds.
The incident took place in the NTPC Gowthami Nagar Ex-Service Colony in Ramagundam Baldia of Peddapalli district, Telangana on Wednesday. Vedasri, a resident of the area was bitten by an insect, while she was jogging down the road and had to be hospitalised for treatment for the ill-effects of the insect bite. Following this, her younger brother, Keshava, resorted to a sit-in strike on the road, to appeal to the local authorities to clear the weeds on either side of the road and which are a home to the poisonous insects.
Keshava also demanded that the road be kept clean. He continues his solo fight, with the villagers merely appreciating his protest.
