Rita Yadav, who had shown Modi black flag, shot

Rita Yadav, who had waved black flag before Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was shot in the ley bu miscreants yesterday.

According to the police, Yadav was on her way home after getting posters and banners made, when, when three persons overtook her vehicle at Lambhua in Uttar Pradesh and stopped her car. The abused her and threatened to kill her. They put a pistol on her car’s driver’s forehead. In protest, Yadav slapped one of the miscreants, upon which he shot her in the leg and all three fled. The police are yet to make arrests in the mater.

Earlier, the police had arrested Rita Yadav on December 16, after she showed black flag to Modi on his visit to Sultanpur to inaugurate Purvanchal Expressway.

The next day, she met Congress District President Abhishek Singh Rana in Lucknow and subsequently joined Congress. She also called on Priyanka Gandhi after joining the party.

Yadav was earlier with Samajwadi Party and had raised slogans against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath at a rally at Arwal Keeri.
