Four girls beat poverty and make it to Hyderabad cricket team
Four girls from Telangana, including two tribals, have made it to the Hyderabad women’s cricket team.
All the four girls come from extremely poor families and have been trained at the cricket academies launched by social and tribal welfare residential educational institutions.
Of the four girls, B Anjali and Nikhitha are from social welfare residential institutions, while Paravati and Anitha are from tribal welfare residential educational institutions.
After extensive training at the academies, the girls made it to the Hyderabad under-18 women’s cricket team, clearing tough selection process. Paravati, a tribal girl, hails from Koudipalli mandal of Medak district and her parents are farm labourers. Anitha is also a tribal and she hails from Hanumanpalli Thanda of Mahabubnagar District.
The girls dream of playing for the country one day.
